After all of the discussions we have had about Feed and what Anderson might be asking us to consider/critique/perceive about our world today, what is on your mind? Do you agree with Anderson that "everything must go" and that we must begin to challenge the way our consumer culture encourages us to contribute to the economic machine that drives capitalist societies? Or perhaps do you believe that "everything must go" in the sense of how we are abusing the environment, and that our practices must change if we want to preserve our planet? In what ways has Anderson prompted you to consider your own lifestyle and habits you might want to change? Aim for a 300-word response here and make it thoughtful! :)
With the ending of the book and Anderson’s theory about how “everything must go” I would side with both interpretations of that. The first was about how we must begin to challenge the way our consumer culture encourages us to contribute to the economic machine that drives capitalist societies. I would agree with this because if we carry on how we are, as a materialistic generation and mainly focus on materialistic things, then when something similar to the feed is created, we would be under the risk of having it take over, like it sort of does within the novel of Feed. So somehow we must all resist and start to separate from our materialistic sides, so that we are prepared if such an event was to arise.
ReplyDeleteWith the second idea of how we are abusing the environment, and that our practices must change if we want to preserve our planet, I also would agree to this. This concept is also true because if we carry on being a materialistic generation, then each item we make, we are using up resources (Ex: each new bedside table or desk or bed we purchase is yet another tree cut down) With each tree that is cut down because of our materialistic needs, a habitat for an organism is destroyed and it also provides us with more CO2 and not as much oxygen, because we would be destroying and cutting down our major source of exchanging the two. Also with each factory, that produces our items, that we love so much is letting out a horrendous amount of smoke that pollutes our air and destroys our atmosphere.
So therefore both examples connect with each other because they both can easily be focused on materialism and materialistic minds and people, and how it is destroying both our physical and mental/emotional worlds, by contaminating our brains with the urge to buy things, produce things ect. And with buying and producing more and more is made to relate to the needs and demands from the people, which eventually destroys our environment.
With all these awful thoughts and ideas in mind of what our world could turn into things that I would like to maybe alter in my lifestyle is the demand for materialistic things, and even though it may be impossible to remove materialism from our life’s, we can somehow make it not so much of a big deal as it is. This can be done by only purchasing what you need instead of every little thing you may want. Also by making as much use of everything you purchase as possible so nothing also goes to waste, so its not as big of a threat to the environment, as before. One person doing so won’t change anything, but if we somehow encourage more people to do so a pleasant change could be possible. ☺
II think that when Anderson says everything must go at the end of the book explains what the whole book was about. I think that it meant that all of the habits and practices that we do need to go. That way, we can make room for practices to improve the Earth. In the book, he describes the environment being completely destroyed. The ocean is extremely toxic, and all of the sea life needs special coating to keep them alive. They have to build oxygen factories since few trees are still standing. They have domes over the neighborhoods and cities to avoid the pollution from the Earth. Anderson is suggesting that all these things could become a reality if we do not change our ways. Our actions are destroying the planet, and will be just like the book if we don’t change our ways. Living this way would be really hard and it would change my live forever. To prevent a future described in the Feed, I have changed my lifestyle a lot more after reading the book. One thing I have started to do a lot more is recycle. Recycling is a way to reduce trash and pollution, and is a great way to help save the planet. It will help save vital resources on the Earth. Another way of saving the planet is by carpooling, or walking more often. Car exhaust is something that has created lots of air pollution in the world, and if you do not drive as often, the pollution will not be as high. Doing these really simple things is a great way to keep the environment for a longer time. If everyone took ideas like this to heart, the environment would be intact long enough for everyone to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI really believe that we are really abusing are planet to the point where i dont know how long our planet will last with the way that we are carrying on and the terrible things that we are doing like cutting down trees. I believe that we should cut back our population by 75% and keep it that way and that way we will be able to survive and sustain life on our planet. Anderson made me thing about what ways i could improve my life to be more friendly to the environment.
ReplyDeleteI really think that this is one way by reading this book for me and to see how i can change my life and make that 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% in the world and if everyone did that then it would help so much and all of that added up would work.
Anderson portrays his view of "everything must go" by showing us that life changes, and with change, things have to go, in fact for a change to happen, something has to go.An example of this, is in the book Feed, at the end when Violet dies, Titus changes his view of the feed. This had to happen in order for a change and eventually like Anderson said, everything will go and everything will change.
ReplyDeleteThe sentence "Everything must go" could also be considered foe the environment because right now, the environment is in jeopardy. The environment is slowly dying and for this to happen, things are slowly going, such as trees. This example was also shown very breifly in the book, but in the book, they had a new and inproved environment, and so something went for that change.
I think that what Anderson is trying to say is that for a change to happen in life or around us, something, wheather big or small, precious or not, eventually, has to go because that is the only way for "Everything must Go" to happen.
I think that when Anderson says “everything must go’ he means what we think is everything. Our things matter to us a lot today rather than relationships and I think he expressed that in the whole book. And we get distracted by all the technology that we forget what is more important. We must not be so attached with our thing but it is hard to let go. Everything has a sentimental value to us. Most represent memories and even if they are broken we still want to keep them. Things are also what keep our economy together because if we don’t buy things, everything is affected. But Anderson could also mean that we are destroying everything by buying everything so that must go. Like everyday billions of trees are getting cut. But not a lot are grown back. And in we are polluting so much with the factories and industrial plants growing around everywhere instead of forests. In the book it was mentioned that when they visited the sea, there was steam coming out and they had to wear suits to protect them from its toxicants. I hope that this is not how the future of earth will be. But from the way things are today, I can’t blame Mr. Anderson for being a pessimist. In the book, the technology has advanced so much that there is no nature. Nobody really cares what is happening around them or of the real problems of their world in Feed. Except for Violet. She tries to get Titus to be more aware but he just zones out. I think that today more people are becoming that. Trying to ignore problems that are too real to ignore for example global warming or the almost extinction of tigers. I would change lots of things about the way I but it’s hard to change the minds of others. I think that maybe 10% of people would actually want to change their life style for the good of the planet and future generations. I think that Mr. Anderson has a point saying that everything must go. But we can’t just change right away. It could take years. But maybe if more people work together we can preserve our planet for the greater good.
ReplyDeleteAnderson’s book, “Feed” is demonstrating how the media has taken over our lives. Without technology now, our world would be lost as we have depend on this advancement so much. The media influences us everyday, what we wear, how we talk, how we must look. In this story the future that Anderson has given, is the future we are geared towards. The characters prove to the readers what would happen if we totally surrender to the “Feed”, the decay of language, the loss of our environment and the lack of common knowledge. I agree to the last sentence of the novel, “everything must go.” I believe that the world has been abused by the “Feed.” We as people are corrupted by what we hear and how we follow the things we see. Technology is the easier way of life for most and this allows people to become sidetracked from using themselves as resources. The “Feed” in the novel, is addictive and the media and technology in reality is as well. My class mates and I love technology and pay attention to the media, but like everything in the world, it is taken too far. After reading this book, I have thought twice of my habits, smsing, watching t.v, shopping, Facebook, playing playstation, magazines and I have realized slowly how everyone can become more and more loyal to the “Feed.” Like in the book, Violet resisted the “Feed” whilst everyone around her was oblivious to the power the “Feed” had over them, in reality it is difficult to resist the media has we are all surrounded by it. Anderson’s book, “Feed” has made me question myself and hope that we do not end up like the characters in his novel.
ReplyDeleteAfter finishing the novel I think the ending stating everything must go is a powerful echo of what the entire book is saying. I think it resonated with me and what was on my mind after and throughout the novel. The book has left opinions and feelings in me such as the need to question consumerism today and how it intrudes my life. I find the television a conduit for consumerism. It is feeding everyone especially the youth trends styles and controlling what we perceive to be “in” or “cool”. I don’t agree with Anderson that we must challenge consumerism but rather to question or own consuming in products. If this is what Anderson means by challenging consumerism than I agree completely. We must think about why we are buying something, will it really help us? Do we really need it, and why? We should always stop and think if we are simply buying it because our friends have it or someone famous is advertising it but rather if it is something that will genuinely make us happy. I don’t think Anderson was referring to the environment when he says everything must go but I do find it necessary to conserve the environment. If we continue at the rate we are going most of the world’s forests will be gone and many species abundant today will be extinct. I find it important to conserve the world’s beauty however it is not a large problem compared to the relief of people struggling form poverty, disasters, health and crime.
ReplyDeleteMy closing thoughts on Feed
ReplyDeleteThe book Feed was very original. The concepts used by the author made me think a lot about how the future would be. In a small way I can see how the author got his ideas when writing Feed especially when you think about the past and note the changes. An example could be the English language. 100 years ago English sounded very different from the English we know today. I think that Feed is an over- exaggerated look into the future where everything becomes a business even clouds. But I don’t think that humans will fuse computer chips into their brains ever in the future.
At the end of Feed I believe everything must go signifies people trying to challenge our consumer habits because Feed seems to concentrate on the idea of consumerism taking over the world. The novel Feed hasn’t really made me change my ways to tell the truth but I have become more aware of what a big part of our world is based on consuming. An example is the economy and how one of the ways to fix it is by buying items and how sending money allows others to make a living. In a way I think humans are trapped in a cycle of endless consuming because if we don’t spend the whole world can’t work properly. The main thing I don’t really understand about the novel is how language broke down so easily and how those trends in Feed come about. Another thing I want to know about the world of Feed is how education became so irrelevant to them. I really don’t think education of all things could or would deteriorate to people leaning how to purchase items. And since an education in the world of Feed is so irrelevant how would people be able to get jobs to keep the consuming world alive?
by Bobo
The sentence “Everything must go” portrays what our world, in my opinion is moving to. I would have to say that I agree with both thoughts about “Everything must go”. I think that our society has been focusing on consuming things according to what we want, instead of what we need, which makes us selfish and self-centered. The feed, in the story is a symbol that represents what our society has started to do, and will continue to do. This idea made me think about how people including me live. Moreover, I believe that it should be a thing to change. The other thought about how “Everything must go” is about how we are abusing our environment. Nowadays, our society is changing our environment to fit our wants, and forgetting about what’s really important which again makes us very self centered. At the present time, habitats have been destroyed, which are homes to many animals and results in extinction. Many people would say that humanity has been “changing” the environment and “progressing” toward a better future, but what I think we have done is nothing but destroying it. I think that the solution is being more considerate about our environment, and appreciate what it does and gives us.
ReplyDeleteThe book feed was a really interesting one. It tackled many problems that we have with the world today. Feed made it obvious that if we didn’t change our ways as a race we would crash and burn. Following up with the next trend may not always be the best for us. In a sense I agree with Anderson that the way we abuse the earth and refuse to take action when we can see that it is clearly deteriorating is not the best way to handle things. I also realize that some of the technology that we have is extremely helpful. However it is possible to go about life without all of these gadgets because our ancestors did it. We can all see what is happening to our environment and yet only a few people are really taking action. Personally after reading the book my first thought was how cool would it be to have everything in your brain. You would be able to have all the knowledge in the world faster than ever. But then as I got further into the book and saw what destruction the world could come to and how possibly we could loose all communication and even in a way your identity I started to see it differently . People could no longer function on their own. They had completely blocked out the fact that the world around them was slowly but surely coming to and end. To avoid coming to that ourselves we must change our habits. Picking up after ourselves and trying to burn less fossil fuels could help us immensely. Things such as deforestation would have to stop. Being slightly different from everyone else is special and having your own thoughts is a gift. So in conclusion I agree with the author that we have to start paying attention to such things.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Anderson in both ways. First of all, we as humans live in a consumerist society. We must buy to survive. We must buy food, accommodation, luxury items and basic necessities like clothes and appliances. We must change this or at least lower the prices because this kind of lifestyle is eating away at our money savings and soon we will have none left. Another consumer culture problem that is feeding the ever increasing economic machine that powers capitalist societies is taxation. People work long and hard for their money and the government takes a huge chunk out of it each month. This money sometimes goes to helping the country, but most times it ends up in the pockets of politicians and dictators. The latter outcome is called theft, and the people cannot do anything about this. We have to change this system by educating the people and changing the ways government systems work so people do not get robbed by their rulers.
ReplyDeleteWe, as people, are destroying our environment and soon, we may not be able to stop this if we continue. Anderson showed us a future where we live in domes and the outside environment is toxic or radioactive due to over pollution or all-out atomic warfare. In any case, no one wants to live in a bleak future like this. We must change our ways and fast. I have heard that there is a convention happening in Mexico where world leaders will discuss this problem. Discussing will not change anything. We must take action. We have to change our practices by developing sustainable environments where we give out more than we take in.
I will change my lifestyle by recycling the waste paper and plastic bottles. I will try not to litter anywhere and I will try and take care of the environment as a whole instead of abusing it and not thinking about what I am doing.
In the novel Feed MT Anderson has a theory that everything must go. I agree with Anderson because if we misuse our environment and technology then our planet will end up like the planet in Feed.
ReplyDeleteAnderson conveys to the readers that if we misuse technology it will end up taking over our lives. In the novel the characters are totally controlled by the Feed, which is a piece of technology that dominates the lives of many. Without the Feed many people would not be able to function properly. Anderson shows the readers that technology has influenced the lives of many and that it controls many people, if we continue to rely a lot on technology then we will end up like the people in the novel, controlled by technology.
Anderson also conveys that the environment in the novel has been incredibly misused and that the human race has destroyed almost everything. In the novel the oceans are polluted, trees have been cut down and the survival of animals depends on the humans. The environment in Feed is a reflection of what our environment could end up as if we continue to destroy it and misuse it like the environment in Feed. MT Anderson has sent a message to all the readers that our environment is going to end up destroyed if we don’t do something fast as a global community.
Anderson has made me realize what the effects will be if we destroy the environment and if we misuse our technology because of this I have started to recycle more and to not use technology when it is not required. I think that if we all play a small part to help our planet by recycling and doing other environmentally friendly things then we will have a big impact and save our precious environment before everything goes.

Closing thoughts about Feed.....
ReplyDeleteAfter I had finished reading the book to kill a mockingbird a lot was on my mind. I especially started to think about if all this would actually happen. It seems so hard to believe that the people of the future would be so extremely ignorant about life and how they should treat the environment. But in other words you can see that the same thing has happened to us, modern day people but not taken to such an extreme level. Another thing that is also on my mind is that if we ever reach such an extreme level of ignorance, would it be too late for us to turn back and undo everything that we have ruined? I do believe that ‘everything must go’ in a sense of how we are abusing our planet. I believe in this because we, modern day humans do not really acknowledge the environment and how it should be treated. We just keep on building factories and cars and buildings causing pollution created by humans to keep on getting worse and worse. If we could cut all of this man made construction just by a third and go back to living a slightly simpler lifestyle we could stop all these worries about polluting the environment. M.T Anderson has helped me cement by concerns about the environment and changing my lifestyle slightly. I now regularly think about the environment and the concerns surrounding around it. I’m really worried what will happen to us, and the environment in the near future and whether we will stop and think about what is going and, and whether we will be willing to change our way of life before it is to late.
The Quote “Everything must go,” is repeated many times at the end of the novel. I personally think that the author M.T. Anderson, says it many times to basically make us consider that the way we are living now is not a rightful way. Also we should change our lifestyle and conventions to prevent us from becoming like most of the main characters in the novel. In his opinion we are becoming everyday more and more like the novels themes. We have to stop the wreckage of our environment and to prevent the way we speak be turned into some language that is similar to the novel Feed, and the impact our technology will have on us. I personally think that M.T. Anderson is ver righteous on thinking that we will end up like the novel Feed. I personally think that we are becoming so more and more each day.
ReplyDeleteI honestly consider that we are destroying our environment. We have to try and save it. If we take care of our environment it will take care of us. In the novel the environment is basically gone and it is destroyed. There were no resources and there were no trees no plants n there were not many animals. We should save our environment so later on in the future we do not end up like the societies in the novel Feed. Second, I personally think that our language today has been changing lately. Many young teenagers use the texting form now a days. Therefore this is an example of how our language is changing. For example people use ppl as in people, ttyl as in talk to you later etc.... However if we do not be careful we might even and up using this texting form in schools. Lastly yet importantly, I think that we depend on our technology way too much these days. We look for too much in our technology. We always look for the best and latest technology that has been invented. We might as well get the feed like in the novel to make things easier. Sometimes we need to take a break and just stop been consumed by the feed. All of theses different statements prove that our world needs to change and that M.T.Anderson has a right to say that we need to save our environment, be careful with our language, and stop been consumed by the feed.
M.T.Anderson has taught me that sometimes we all just need to take a break and stop and recap on what we are doing. Ever since I read the novel Feed i have trying to help the environment by trying to recycle every single plastic bottle i have used i either reuse it or throw it in the plastic recycling bottle trash can. When it comes to the decay of language I’m going to have to say that it is going to be very hard to text using long words so i think I’m going to stick with texting the short way. I also think resisting all of the technology around me is very hard because I use many computers at school and at home to do most of my homework. However I will try stop been consumed by the feed.
Closing thoughts on Feed:
ReplyDeleteWell Feed was actually a good book, especially in comparison to, To Kill a Mockingbird. Well Mrs. Lavender as you know I do not believe in global warming. My thoughts on Anderson's critique of the world today are actually quite simple. I do not believe anything he is saying, he is paranoid. I am not being ignorant; I am trying to say that all of those that brought the idea of climate change to us are all very wealthy people right now. However Feed brought one very important problem to light in me. Large global companies are manipulating human minds and we have not realized yet. Our society could easily become as bad as that in Feed because we are blind to the companies messing around with our heads. Lastly I think that Andersons ideas on “everything must go” is actually right, and is what we need to move past the (consumer) stage the world is in. For example if we as a global community decided that we did not need 100 pairs of shoes, a new car every five years or a new electronic gaming console every time they release a “slim” or an “elite” version. I believe our capitalist economy is likely to fail and when it does, I doubt there is anything for western civilization to fall back on. We need to stop our reliance on fossil fuels because it is a diminishing resource. In my opinion the only use any environmentally forward would be to stabilize the world’s economy. Electric cars and Hydro cars are the reason I am so opposed to global warming but I believe they are one of the few things that can save our planet from its inhabitants. If we can find more innovative ideas that destroy the need for fossil fuels we may have a chance of survival as a species.
The idea on "everything must go" creates an image in my mind that the world population relies too much on products that are displayed in the markets. People are drawn to new items as a moth is drawn to the lights outside our homes. It seems like buying is part of human nature, to continue living we need possessions. New electronics or clothes come out in seasons, and when they do get released people will go out to buy them even though that those items might be completely unnecessary in our daily life. Certain people do not realize that the more they spend it will soon become a problem for them. They might start spending more than they earn from their jobs and where will they be after that? Advertisements today are bad enough trying to get us to buy their new elite products that are supposedly "unique" or "better" than the regular item.
ReplyDeleteI believe this idea also relates to our environment and how we are treating it. All the emissions from factories and cars release those harmful pollutants into our atmosphere. Soon enough we might find ourselves living in giant domes with artificial oxygen. The idea of "everything must go" explains that we need new inventions such as the solar powered car to save what is left of the fragile ecosystems around the world. We must get rid of the reliance of fossil fuels in order to have a future that is not like the one in Feed. I do not believe that the future of man is to live in a world without the beauty of the world's ecosystems.
So to recap we must stop buying unnecessary products because it looks cool or because it is new and is better than the older version. But I would say if you buy a product don't spend blindly budget yourself. For the environment's sake we must get rid of environmentally harmful pollutants and turn to other options. Green options so we can have a bright future.
I think that Feed is a new perspective of how our future will be. The book I found out was very advanced with knowledge about knowing what might happen in the future.
ReplyDeleteFor the "everything must go" I'd have to agree with the one where we are abusing our environment and how our practices must change to make it a healthier environment for everyone. We can't keep on polluting our environment and making it as worse as it already is. Our generation needs to be the one that stops global warming and all of these things that is changing our environment vastly.
Also the "everything must go" for challenging the consumer like Violet did is also good. It gives us a sense of what we should be spending our money on and what we shouldn't. It teaches us how we should spend our money wisely and ignore some of the things we don't need.
Our world is changing in so many negative ways that its uncountable. Anderson is really sending us a message in this book so that our world doesn't become like the Feed. Technology today is getting smaller phones, computers and soon I think that eventually the Feed will happen. He's warning us to clean up our environment and change it for the better and not for the worst so that we don't end up like the characters in the story. The characters were in their own little worlds clueless of what was happening on the outside. There was too much consumerism and basically they had everything because everything was there and advertised so why would they want to leave?
Anderson has prompted me to focus more on my lifestyle and habits to help the environment in one way or another. For example when you drink a coke from a plastic bottle you can recycle it and use it as a water bottle or something else. Also instead of throwing it in the trash, you could throw it in a recycling bin that other people will use. Also we should avoid using paper bags because they don't decompose and that will really destroy our Earth.
I really enjoyed reading the book Feed, and I believe it brought up a lot of issues that are in our society today that need to be solved. I agree with Anderson quote "everything must go". I agree that we need to change the way we are living if we want to preserve our planet. I think that he is trying to tell us that if we do not change, then we will end up like the people in the novel did, and their environment. He's trying to tell us that we are destroying our environment and technology is taking over our lives, so we don't communicate as much as we should, so our language is decaying. He's sending out so many signals in the book to us in the novel talking about how we are changing for the worse, and the quote "everything must go" just sums it up. I believe that what Anderson is talking about isn't as farfetched as some people think it is. Anderson is sending us a wake up call telling us that we need to try to save our environment or we will end up with no trees, no animals, and no organic food. Nothing. People use technology a lot and that is also changing our language, for example, texting. We abbreviate words to make it faster to talk to others. This is why I think Anderson is very right when he says, "everything must go". We need to change, and fast. I believe that if our grandparents and great-grandparents could go through life without Internet, or phones and other technology, then I believe that we can do it to. We just need to be willing to let go of them. We don't know that we are putting our lives on a ticking time bomb by all the things Anderson mentions in the book, and we are just walking around blinded by this fact. We are abusing our planet, and we need to stop!
ReplyDeleteIn the novel Feed, Anderson repeats the words “everything must go” quite a few times. I agree with Anderson on how we are becoming consumers more and more. I think that Anderson is telling us that we will become the characters of Feed if we do not change our ways. He is showing us how we get different things on a basis of want and not need. Through all this we are getting more of the stuff we want rather than need. Also by this we get what we want at the suffering of others who are deprived of what they need. An example is a pair of shoes. We do not need 10 pairs but we want it, and so some one has to loose something essential for themselves, like there home, to build the factory to make the shoes. I also agree with Anderson’s words at the end in the sense of how we abuse the environment. We must change the way we treat the environment. We should start to help it grow instead of demolishing it at an alarming rate. I agree with those words because if we do not change our ways we will end up with a future like the one in Feed. A place where we must invent new technologies to sustain us as nature is efficient enough. The way I would change my lifestyle is by not wanting as much unnecessary junk as I want now. I would want less rather than nothing because it is human nature to want things. But I would keep getting the essentials like food and water as I will not survive without it. By the way I consider playstations and xboxs as essentials as I could not image how to live without them.

With Anderson’s ending of Feed with “everything must go”, he is trying to briefly explain what he has been saying throughout the whole novel. I think that he is referring to the way that humans are living. They are living as consumerists who purchase necessities, however also a great deal of things that aren’t necessary to have. I partially do agree with Anderson’s “everything must go”. Of course I don’t agree that “everything” must go, but I do think that some things should, which are the some of the things that people want and do not need. We probably should start to challenge the way in which our consumer culture encourages us to contribute to the economic machine that drives capitalist societies. The reason is because of the producers creating unnecessary things. However, this is not always the case. Often producers improve and perfect products. These become better and some products are even being worked on to be environmentally friendly. Though I agree with us needing to start challenging the consumer culture, think that what Anderson is trying to say more is that we have to stop abusing our environment. I do believe that our practices must change in order for us to preserve our environment. We cannot continue with things such as pollution and deforestation. Anderson is probably trying to tell us that we should not change the world like what the world in Feed became like. They took out all their forests and created “factories” that made oxygen. This is not natural and not the way the world was meant to work, all the real natural things were taken out and replaced by man-made structures such as shopping malls.
ReplyDeleteGreetings friends of grade9lovestoread.blogspot.com. Talking about abusing the environment , here is a proposal that might be of interest to you:
ReplyDeleteA SELF SUFFICIENT VIRTUAL CITY AS A MODEL TO BUILD A SUSTAINABLE REAL WORLD
Despite the high quality of life that some of the so-called developed nations have achieved, the truth is that the world, considered as a group of countries located in a fragile and geographically limited biosphere, is threatened with extinction due to human conflicts and the depredation of the environment.
Notwithstanding the good and very important actions taken by groups and individuals in favor of a better world, deterioration at all levels continues to increase dangerously.
After more than thirty years dedicated to these matters, and since "an image is worth a thousand words" we have come up with an alternative strategy, which consists of designing a self-sufficient and sustainable model city that has all the characteristics of infrastructure and organization inherent to the peaceful and sustainable society that we want for ourselves and our descendants, whose representation in the form of scale models, animated series, feature films, video games and theme parks, would constitute a model to follow to generate the necessary changes.
The prototype that we present has some characteristics that are opposed, sometimes in a radical way, to the religious, economic, political and educational traditions and customs that have been transmitted from generation to generation, yet are the causes of the aforementioned problems, and therefore must be transformed.
